About us

The Male Fertility Clinic is a small, discreet and convenient service; we specialise in providing comprehensive semen analysis testing for gentlemen wishing to assess their fertility.

We are currently open in central London, only a stone’s throw from London Victoria train station.

If you have been trying to conceive for 6 months or more with no success then it is recommended to have a semen analysis performed – the test can provide detail about the function of the cells, and their potential to achieve a natural pregnancy.  Alternatively, you may just be interested in the overall health of your sperm following lifestyle changes, illness or in anticipation of starting to try for a family.  Wherever you are on your fertility journey, we look forward to welcoming you at The Male Fertility Clinic.

Our dedicated service is open throughout the week, including Saturdays - providing optimum convenience for our patients.  If you would like to Book an Appointment, please follow the link for further information and availability.

Background

For couples struggling to conceive, discovering the underlying reasons for their infertility and overcoming these, can sometimes be a complicated journey.  In the past, we have seen a real focus in fertility discussions surrounding women, their biological clocks and various reproductive diseases.  However, we now acknowledge that amongst couples trying for a baby, around 50% of cases may be attributed to sperm quality of the male partner.

Male fertility is becoming more and more affected by a progressive worsening in the quality of the semen; new lifestyles, stress, environmental changes and hormone related factors are all contributing to the modern decline in male fertility. But what is your sperm trying to tell you? Several studies indicate that male infertility may relate to current and later health and suggest there is a reciprocal relationship between health and fertility status. As an example, a high BMI increases the odds of infertility and low sperm counts, as well as high risk or diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Having a semen analysis test is the first step in understanding more about your potential to achieve a natural pregnancy.  Our diagnostic semen analysis is performed by an experienced, HCPC registered Andrologist following the WHO 2021 guidelines. A written explanation will be provided on each report after detailed evaluation by a HCPC registered Clinical Embryologist.  We will guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have going forward.  Whilst we can provide you with a detailed explanation about the findings of your report, we cannot offer you clinical advice or refer you for further treatment; if this is something you are interested in, you will need to contact your GP or a fertility treatment centre.
